Event Review: Bounce Boat feat. The Chainsmokers

Bounce Boat sailed out of pier 40 in New York City on a cloudy Friday night with none other than The Chainsmokers as headliner.  And with a crowd of enthusiastic fans on board to see one of the hottest new acts of the year, you couldn’t expect anything less than an amazing time.

The Chainsmokers is made up of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall, who came together in New York after graduating from college in 2012. They released a handful of singles and remixes on their Soundcloud, slowly building their name around the electronic music blogosphere. But it wasn’t until the release of their last single “#Selfie” that things really began to take off. Since then they have had the opportunity to play on some of the world’s biggest stages from Ultra Music Festival to Tomorrowland and many more.

This past Friday they were given the honor of headlining the first Bounce Boat of the year, where they literally tore the stage up. The Chainsmokers really have proved themselves to be more than just a one-hit wonder, as their stage presence and mixing skills are top of the line. The chemistry between them and the crowd is something rarely witnessed – these guys were raging just as hard as everyone else.

Their entire 2-hour set was filled with straight up bangers, leaving the crowd with not even a second of lingering. With both Andrew and Alex switching off the boards, the party was not going to slow down for anything. And when their hit finally came on, it literally felt like the boat was going to tip over… we’re really glad that didn’t end up happening.

Featuring three-stories equipped with 2 stages, a sick sound system and loads of LED lights around the entirety of it all, Bounce Boat is bound to become one of the hottest tickets in New York. As it takes you along the New York City harbor, you can’t help but appreciate the amazing view that you get. The overall production of the event was amazing and is definitely something every raver should be looking to be a part of. We look forward to hear what else they have coming up for us this summer!
